My internship with the DNR coincided with a prolonged drought in the state of Iowa. As such, I had the unique opportunity to see water resource issues interact with agricultural concerns. I was nominated by the Dean of the Honors College to be one of the first peer mentors for the incoming freshmen.As a mentor, I met with students to provide guidance on research methods, paper writing, and oral presentation of their final research papers.
