Instructor for the Refugee and Migrant Health course which addresses drivers of displacement, social determinants of health in the context of migration and health considerations of displaced populations.

The New Choices Waiver (NCW) program is a 1915 (c) Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) waiver within the Division of Medicaid and Health Financing. NCW seeks to facilitate the deinstitutionalization of individuals requiring nursing facility level of care while also supporting individualized and person-centered plan of care. In this role, I oversee the operational aspects of the waiver which includes eligibility and enrollment; administrative hearings; and provider enrollment. Additionally, I assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of policies and procedures; monitoring and evaluating service delivery; and personnel performance.

Led an integrated, multidisciplinary communicable disease prevention and treatment program tasked with protecting and improving the overall health of Utah’s vulnerable populations. Facilitated and guided collaboration to identify and evaluate indicators of success for statewide disease prevention and treatment. Financial management and oversight of a diverse funding portfolio totaling 17 million dollars. Authored legislative building block requests, administrative rules, federal reports and program analysis to advocate for funding and raise awareness of health issues. Operational and personnel management of multidisciplinary program comprised of 33 FTEs.

Oversaw health and mental health statewide programming and services for refugee communities. Managed Reception and Placement Domestic Health Screening and ORR Health Promotion Grant.

Coordinate various aspects of the state's Refugee Health and Ryan White Part B programs. Responsibilities include grant writing, program evaluation and monitoring, quality improvement, community outreach, and staff supervision.

Led culturally diverse team in the development, implementation and evaluation of health and wellness programming for approximately 1,000 newly arriving refugees resettling in Salt Lake City.
