Before I became a Leisure Attendant for Bradford Council I carried out another part time job, I worked collecting money and delivering milk for the local milkman. This was a very trusting role that involved me collecting money from approximately one hundred customers per week, utilising my excellent communication and money handling skills. At 16 I moved away from this and completed my National Pool Lifeguard Qualification, now I work part time at a Sedbergh Sport and Leisure Centre fulfilling many roles that involve me working on pool, reception and carrying out events in the sports halls. The role of a lifeguard is extremely demanding, you have to be an extremely effective communicator, great team worker and leader and highly trusted, I feel this role has given me, among others, these three skills. Alongside working part time since the age of 14 I gained all 8 GCSEs at level 5 and above and then moved on and gained AAB in Psychology, History and PE A levels. Now I'm undertaking a degree in Psychology at the University of Huddersfield.
