As a Sustainable Horticulture Intern, I had the opportunity to work on projects throughout the UC Davis Arboretum and Public Garden. I learned essential skills such as tree planting and pruning, garden design and installation, irrigation design and construction, path building, garden maintenance, and plant propagation. Understanding the benefits of drought tolerant plants and CA natives. I worked alongside a group of individuals, gaining essential skills such as team collaboration, communication, and problem-solving. This internship has equipped me with well rounded understanding of designing, planting, and maintaining sustainable gardens.
