About Amelia Torode

I am a brand and marketing strategist - passionate about brands and business, culture and creativity, technology and innovation. I have a unique integrated background - with expertise in brand building, digital innovation, direct marketing and PR for some of the best agencies and clients in the UK and US. I have built departments, led agencies and launched my own business, Fawnbrake and now delighted to be back working for WPP where I started my career back in 1997. I am a regular media/culture commentator for BBC Radio London, enjoy writing and presenting conference keynotes and facilitating or participating in panel events. In my spare time I chair Tulse Hill Junior FC, London's oldest youth football club, am a Board Trustee at The Children's Society and cold water swim in Brockwell Lido (I’ve been called a Swim-fluencer which is a name I’ll happily take)I am a proud member of the Diplomatic Sauna Society, established by the Finnish Embassy. (You can ask me about the Baltic in January temperatures of -1)

I spent the last months of my mother's, Naseem Khan, life as her carer. We spent a lot of time in and out of hospitals. She was a brilliant woman who built a life that mattered and a legacy that ran deep. The Good Relations Group is a new brand communications, PR and CSR group aligned around a belief in "The Power of Good" - Good Actions, Good Engagement and Good Recommendation. We believe that Good is the new currency of reputation, reputation being at the same time a brand's most valuable and vulnerable asset. I oversaw the development of Triple G - a new reputational scoring system for brands https://www.marketingweek.com/2013/08/07/how-to-be-good/ which generated considerable industry press coverage and new business leads. The Good Relations Group and the agencies (Harvard, Good Relations Brand Communication, InEvidence, Corporate Citizenship) within the Group develop strategies and ideas for clients based out of insight and data that result in lasting change. The focus was on digital and cultural transformation. I was hired to be the group's first Director of Strategy charged with bringing 5 agencies with different backgrounds and culture together. I have also founded and ran The GRG Digital Academy which is a year-long training and development program for every member of The Good Relations Group. We partnered with The School Of Life, Twitter and Google to develop our syllabus.

We won Agency of the Year for consecutive years from Marketing, Marketing Week and Campaign.
