We also created a revenue-generating community magazine.Results: Social media became an international communications hub and allowed us to provide real-time communications for corporate volunteer events, educate members and provide crisis communications. A community survey showed that Reston, the magazine was the number one source for information in Reston and it also made approximately $35,000 each year in non-dues revenue. In 2012, CNN Money recognized Reston as one of the “Top Ten Best Places to Live”.
