Within the Management Strategy and Organizational Performance Direction, my role was to analyze and synthesize information on the external environment obtained through mechanisms that I put in place. I then had to select the relevant news and choose the optimal way to disseminate it to the members of the organization in order to quickly support the strategic decisions. I have developed a strong network in order to be able to share the right information with the right person at the right time. I was also responsible for the distribution and archiving of these data.I was the first person to fill this position so I created the Competitive Intelligence Unit. I wrote a weekly bilingual newsletter summarizing the highlights of my watch that was sent to hundreds of professionals and managers and to DGAG's executive committee. I also did documentary research from a wide variety of sources to meet the needs of executives in connection with ad hoc projects.My mandate:- Be on the lookout for emerging market trends and emerging business opportunities-Prepare analyzes and syntheses for senior management based on elements deemed relevant in the context of the watch-Be responsible for researching information from secondary and primary sources on strategic projects as well as research on specific topics-Archive documents with respect to the various studies and analyzes of the industry

I was the first market intelligence advisor for the TD Meloche Monnex Group. This means that as soon as I joined the organization, I was responsible not only for creating a market intelligence unit, but also for setting up processes to optimize information gathering, to effectively disseminate it to decision-makers, and to manage all the documentation thus obtained. The property and casualty insurance market intelligence unit I created put an emphasis on competition, industry trends and best practices in America and Europe. I was therefore responsible for selecting all sources of information to be monitored (publications, websites, newsletters, etc.) and to ensure that this selection is continually enhanced and optimal. I have also conducted price comparison studies and financial results analysis in order to better understand the organization's competitive positioning. I have also done documentary research to answer the needs of the decision-makers or to deepen some of the elements discovered in the context of my watch.

This three-step position enabled me to be involved in many facets of the organization. I first worked on the various research mandates that were underway at the Chair. In particular, I participated in the writing of a survey questionnaire and in the interpretation of the data obtained as part of the development of the Strategic Plan for the Development and Commercialization of Tourism Golf in Québec.As a webmaster, I was responsible for maintaining and updating the Chair's and the Network's website. I was responsible for the layout and distribution of the Globe-Veilleur newsletter to our subscribers.I also carried out monitoring tasks, namely research, synthesis, analysis and management of information. I learned how to use technological tools to automate the retrieval and collection of information.

This position enabled me to inform, by telephone and e-mail, in both French and English, people from various countries on Québec's tourism offer. I also booked accommodation and packages to meet the needs of tourists to help them get the most out of their stay. I also carried out various related tasks including the production of informative documents used by agents. Over the years, I have participated in various special projects for Tourisme Québec. In 2001, I represented Tourisme Québec in Albany and Troy in the state of New York during the Québec on Hudson event.
