Oncology Drug PreparationI am in charge of preparing the chemotherapy drugs prescribed to the patients using an isolator. An eye for detail is utmost important to ensure the drugs are prepared fast and correctly without compromising patients’ safety. Aside from oncology drug preparation, I am also in charge of preparing the parenteral nutrition bag, IV mixtures, suspensions, eye drops and infusions that are used together in a Patients’ cancer treatment.Medication Processing and DispensingI handled the processing of medical labels and documentations based on the doctors’ prescriptions. In addition, I am also tasked to dispense medications as per doctors’ prescriptions.Equipment MaintenanceIn charge of maintaining and ensuring the cleanroom and isolator is in proper and safe working conditions for staff to work in. In addition, I also carried out microbiology testing for the isolator to ensure the drug is prepared in a suitable environment within the isolator.Pharmacy Inventory ManagementIn charge of inventory monitoring to ensure a healthy inventory level is maintained in the pharmacy at all times. When in a situation where inventory shortage occurs, I worked with the pharmacy in another department to ensure on time inventory transfer minimizing any downtime.

Monthly report is created for the management to highlight operations issues.Set Up Pediatric Cancer Centre PharmacyAssist the Principal Pharmacist in setting up the Pediatric Cancer Centre within NUH. This includes carrying out QA checks and tests on the Isolator and the cleanroom. I am also tasked to craft out the workflow and SOP based on the opportunities and problems faced in the Cancer Centre.Equipment MaintenanceEnsures cleanrooms and isolators are in proper and safe working conditions for staff. In addition, I carried out microbiology testing for the isolator to ensure the drug is prepared in a suitable environment within the isolator.Pharmacy Inventory ManagementIn charge of inventory monitoring to ensure healthy inventory level in the. Liaised with the pharmacies in other departments to ensure on time inventory transfer minimizing any downtime.Train new hires and integrate them on the processes in the pharmacy. The training includes the knowledge on all the different types and uses of chemotherapy drugs, pharmacy workflows and ultimately the know-hows to prepare the drugs. Ultimately, building the pharmacy’s in-house Oncology capability.
