In 1926, Jawdat Ejjeh Sr. opened his first shop in Downtown Beirut, selling textiles and tailoring tools to the retail market. Just two decades later, his sons had expanded the brand’s services by importing textiles from England, Italy, Spain and China, re-selling them wholesale within Lebanon and the region. With the onset of the Civil War, the business continued to thrive, with the family refusing to let the unrest of the nation stand in the way their determination to not only survive but also to succeed. Despite the fact that the war had caused the destruction of 3 boutiques, the family faced the tragedy head on and by 1980 had risen from the ashes with a new line of ready-to-wear suits and shirts to add to its product range. With nearly 80 years of experience and success, Jawdat Ejjeh & Sons continues to be resolutely dedicated to the art of tailoring. Today, the business has seen great expansion under the leadership of Amer and Sirine Ejjeh, part of the family’s 3rd generation. As part of their vision for the family business, they established a tailoring atelier, specializing in the custom tailoring and finishing of men’s suits and shirts. They also focused on importing fine Italian fabrics to suit all seasons and figures, from wool and cashmere to cotton and linen. In addition to the design and creation of bespoke shirts and suits, they also introduced an accessory range of shoes, ties and cufflinks, completing the boutique’s offering to the well-dressed man.
