- Perform phlebotomy and other collection procedures appropriately and according to established procedures- Perform specialized collection procedures such as urine drug collections and PPD’s- Greet and register the patient by obtaining demographics, billing/insurance information, and Advanced Beneficiary Notice- Process requisitions and enters test orders into the computer system. Performs inquiry functions, specimen transport verification, and retrieve and prints collections labels- Receive, process and/or store specimen as appropriate, centrifuging, splitting, acidifying, aliquoting, measuring and stabilizing- Ensure that information on the requisition matches labels and that tests ordered are in compliance with physician or clients’ requests- Perform biohazard disposal as needed or appropriate
