In addition to previous responsibilities manage Email Security Research team. Managed two product releases which include both on premise security and cloud security. Managed FireEye Labs R&D budget Capex and Opex as well as forecasting these numbers. Manage 750 machines all through DevOps industry best practices of automation and leveraging tools like Ansible. Team provides on demand infrastructure as a service to internal FireEye customers (mostly R&D). Team runs and manages Hadoop(Cloudera and Hortonworks) clusters. Worked with UX design contractor to revamp and improve user experience on heavily utilized portal. Maintained strategic vendor relationships and created vendor partnerships. Negotiated large contracts with vendors and procurement teams. Architected end to end Credential Phishing solution which leverages on premise capabilities and cloud capabilities and is based on Machine Learning.

Created a new R&D Security Infrastructure team by hiring, mentoring, and laying out the roadmap for the team. Team created and managed several Cassandra clusters totaling in over 250 nodes and largest cluster 110 nodes. Stored several 100's of terabytes of malware and security intelligence. Created API's into whole infrastructure to provide security services company wide. API usage peak is several million requests per day. Created and maintained a portal with 150+ daily users that use it for security research and Intel. Team created advanced hunting capabilities like Yara search, Snort search, distributed optimized regex search, Solr Cloud free text search, ElasticSearch free text search, and pivot search. Created advanced analytic projects for Data Scientists on the team. Team manages and runs 20 node ElasticSearch cluster. Created security detections using analytics on very large dataset. Managed 4 distinct groups on the team Security Applications, DevOps, Platform, and Data Science. One of the technical leads on dealing with the Mandiant M&A and integrating their backend systems, services, and data.

Created portal/workflow using python automation and portal using Django/jQuery. Created Data warehouse and stats framework to facilitate in interactive and on the fly telemetry stats gathering and analysis. Lead author on several FireEye Advanced Threat Reports. Managed legacy distributed malware analysis system. Architected replacement malware analysis system. Created proof of concept next generation big data analysis technologies for malware and intelligence research. Designed and resourced highly reused frameworks and systems leveraged by FireEye Labs. Created several highly accurate classifiers using Machine Learning to classify malicious content on the web without needing signatures. Researched various web based security threats and solutions to protect against them. Led teams of researchers to create security solutions. Worked with development teams to implement my security solutions into customer facing products. Spoke many times at Websense/Partner/Industry events to Evangelize Websense solutions and to present research findings. Met with customers from C-Level to Engineer level to answer all possible questions about Websense security solutions and backend security research. Created signatures to protect customers from web based threats. Reverse engineered Malicious JavaScript obfuscation and Malware. Created complete custom and automated backend Sandbox system to track and store malware / malicious website (both user land browser and kernel level system) behavioral analysis. Created several web services to expose API's of various systems. Created web interfaces to report and view detailed and summary information regarding all security related projects. Led team of incident handlers and created work flow's and processes for them to follow. Analyzed and resolved bottlenecks in various processes solved issues using both technical and non technical solutions. Developed solutions in exclusive LAMP environments as well as LAMP + Windows inside VMware. Expert in usage of Regular Expression (Regex) and optimization.

As the director of Software QA at DigMedia I was in charge of software QA that spanned accross the following platforms web, desktop, backend servers, and propietary hardware devices. Led a team of QA engineers in planning and testing this complex digital rights management system. Created QA metrics with weekly reports to track progress. Reported to CTO.

Involved in QA of all three products OFM, Update Expert, and iPrism. All three products were completely different technology. Became subject matter expert on all three products with emphasis on security. Worked on R&D projects with small teams of developers to prove validity of theories.
