As a low-income, first-generation immigrant student of color, my journey through the U.S. education system has been shaped by overcoming significant challenges with the support of mentors and educational programs. These experiences have fueled my passion for helping students from similar backgrounds succeed both academically and personally. I am deeply committed to bridging the academic gap by using my skills and experiences to support underserved communities, particularly in education.During my time at UCLA and in previous roles, I have been dedicated to mentoring, counseling, and supporting students from diverse and underserved backgrounds, ranging from elementary to high school, community college, and college levels. I’ve helped students navigate academic challenges, develop study skills, and build confidence through tutoring, one-on-one guidance, and workshops. I’ve also delivered presentations and conducted workshops on topics such as college readiness, financial literacy, academic resources, and basic needs. Through roles such as a Peer Success Coach, Educational Intern, and Mentor in programs like the UCLA Early Academic Outreach Program and Diablo Valley College, I’ve gained hands-on experience in providing students with the support they need to succeed both academically and personally. With a strong focus on educational equity, my goal after completing my bachelor's degree is to continue working in education or non-profit organizations before pursuing a master’s degree in school counseling or social work. I am passionate about ensuring that every student has the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their background.
