Jan 2015 - Dec 2015Ballabgarh, Haryana , InProjects Completed in JCB India Ltd.:1) VENDOR DEVELOPMENT AND WELDING PROCESS IMPROVEMENT: Developed new vendors by analyzing critical KPIs like, supplier’s production capacity, service quality, response to changes, considering time and cost required for transportation, flexibility, reviewing requested RFQ, service history and financial stability. I also worked with the quality team to assure that the outsourced welded parts meet JCB's quality standards. Established Heijunka (Level Scheduling) and worked on MRP to reduce lead time and maintain an effective inventory. As the new vendor was not able to meet JCB's standards, I suggest few methods to improve the quality of weld like, balancing the voltage current ratio (300 V & 30 A), using multiple pass technique for improved penetration, using of suitable manipulators, using different welding positions like 1F for flat position, 3G for vertical position, 4F for overhead position, etc. 2) STUDY AND ANALYSIS OF KANABAN SYSTEM: Successfully implemented 2 bin Kanban System that helped to drive down cost and waste due to improved material flow. Improved SAP that enabled us to automatically place the order for required parts when the reordering point is reached. Effectively limited WIP, eliminated the distraction of multitasking and helped the team to get the work done faster. 40% of waste reduction and 45% reduction in dead stock were noticed after implementation of Kanban system.3) VISUAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM , PALLETIZATION & REVAMP OF STORES: I used Six Sigma (DMAIC) methodology to identify and control the potential causes for rejection of the welded chassis. This reduced the rejection of welded chassis by installing visual boards to facilitate easy identification of twin parts. Trained the workers about 5s, Poka Yoke, Kaizan, and Kanban to improve quality and increase commercial profit. -

All the activities were sequence to avoid any kind of rework.Material Management: I used to plan the flow of material in the workshop according to production planning. This was done to avoid any delay in work due to shortage of material.Sponsorship: I was also responsible to arrange for sponsorship for the team. And I was successful in a generating revenue of INR 30000.Motivating the team members was also an extremely important part of my job. To track the movement of material from the vendors workshop to our manufacturing facility we developed a tacker. To resolve resolved freight and equipment issue I developed a tracker using excel. This tracker helps to by displaying this information on the central activity board, thus minimizing the communication gap between engineering team and business team. We used ABC analysis to segregate material on the basis of the frequency of usage.
