SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS, PROCESSES AND SYSTEMS FOR ENERGY TRANSITIONAdvanced methodologies for the analysis of the satellite-based measurements of land movements.The PhD project focuses on the analyses of the InSAR (Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar) data in order to define the relations between land movements and fluid extraction/storage from/into underground geological formations. In particular, the effects of water and hydrocarbon production and gas storage activities as well as their superposition will be carefully addressed.Starting from unsupervised Machine Learning techniques, such as hierarchical and partitive clustering techniques, different ML and AI approaches will be evaluated to define the best strategies for data management and analysis. InSAR measurements will be supported by and related to other types of structured and non-structured data for a better understanding of the phenomena. Great attention will be also given to a straightforward (georeferenced) representation of the results.The target of the project is the definition and the formalization of an innovative methodological approach for the analysis of land movements. The Po Plain area will be taken as a case study.
