I have enjoyed working within the care industry since I was 11. I started as a kitchen & laundry assistant in my parents residential home. I have been working as a healthcare assistant since I was 16. I specialise in dementia care but have recently branched out to include adult complex care. I also worked as a part time veterinary centre receptionist during my early 20’s, which I found very rewarding. I am very proud to have completed my Health & Social Care NVQ levels 2 & 3, Team Leader NVQ level 2, various skill certificates including First Aid, Oxygen Therapy, Stroke Awareness and Skin Viability, and most recently a Distinction Alchemy Diploma, Herbalist diplomas and Soap Production Business diploma. I enjoy learning and complete courses outside of my career to expand my knowledge base. I enjoy spending time with people and providing care, social activities and support to those who need it most. My home life is also based around care, I provide support for my Dad who has had a kidney transplant and multiple bypass surgery. I have a love of animals and currently own my own horse, cat, dog and hamsters. They bring me no end of joy and love. Some of my best skills are communication and compassion. I find my care role extremely rewarding and have a deep sense of job satisfaction.I have recently stepped out of care to try some new experiences and am enjoying work as a member of the Front of House Team at a castle hotel. The communication skills I have gained through my work in the care industry have been crucial in my new role. I’m currently enjoying the change of pace and scenery, the challenges are very different but rewarding none the less.
