About Ami Patrick

After graduating from the University of Edinburgh I started working at Biobest Laboratories as an Assistant Virologist. Throughout my time in the company I have progressed through several roles to reach my current position as Cell and Stem Cell Culture Supervisor. Aside from the practical work involved in culturing multiple different cells lines and individual stem cell treatments for canine, feline and equine patients, I am responsible for maintaining stock levels, developing relationships with clients and acting as line manager for junior staff. In 2023 I was responsible for organising and coordinating an event with young women from local schools for Ada Lovelace Day.I have maintained my interest in Zoology alongside my scientific career with volunteer roles in three local outdoor groups, including the Midlothian Rangers, and am currently also a volunteer writer for OneKind Planet, producing a range of articles on topics such as the environment and animal welfare. I have studied several different online courses in my own time, including Animal Behaviour with the University of Oxford.
