The Deputy Director is responsible for a wide range of activities including: managing and growing the Partners For Access (PACC) network designed to increase full-tuition scholarships for students from low-income backgrounds; strengthening external relations to broaden program awareness and networking with key stakeholders; strategizing campaigns to increase the program’s mission for educational access; conceptualizing and implementing infrastructure to increase operational efficiencies, including new technology; supporting marketing by delivering presentations both virtually in and in-person; supervising the Yale Young African Scholars (YYAS) staff and assist with running program, and serving as a key member of the admissions team by reading applications and reviewing financial aid for high school students from around the world applying to YYGS. The Deputy Director will assist the Director of YYGS with the development and execution of various tasks as they arise and are necessary.

Overview: Assist with the program expansion by designing new sessions, including but not limited to: Doubling the number of sessions and admitted students on Yale’s campus; Adding a new session in China at Yale Center Beijing for 100 students from 2016 - 2018; A new session in Singapore at Yale-NUS for 200 students in June 2016; Three sessions in Africa for the Yale Young African Scholars Program, with 100 students in each session from 2014-2015. Travel to program sites and help administer programs.Student Relations / External Affairs: Design and implement sophisticated global marketing strategy for prospective students, parents, educators, potential donors, and partners; manage annual budget of $80,000; read YYGS applications with a special focus on South Asia, Middle East, and Latin America; make final admissions decisions; assist in allocating $2 M in financial aid annually; manage program registration process on Slate and CampDoc, which includes decision release for 5,000+ applicants.Grew YYGS applicant pool from 2,000 in 2014 to 5,600 in 2018; admitted students from all 50 states and more than 120 countries; raised $350,000 to establish new scholarships for Middle Eastern students and refugees to attend YYGS at no cost; increased the number of education access partners from five to 15 and more than tripled the number of under-represented, low-income students attending YYGS through partnerships with education access organizations from 2014-2018; designed the YYGS Alumni Ambassador Program and enlisted 100+ alumni to become ambassadors; improved the internal and external application process by consolidating three different program applications on Technolutions Slate.Management Experience: Managed YYGS Communications Officer and a team of Yale College student workers; co-managed residential life staff during the registration period and assisted in summer program coordination for participants, Yale instructors, and Yale faculty.

Naturellement supported local sustainable farming through socially responsible business practices and the web pages were strategically designed for an international audience to illustrate company morals and health values alike.
