Offering professional evidence-based treatments to members with a full range of psychiatric disorders. Knowledge of administration, scoring, and interpretation of select psychological and psycho-social measures to properly assess member's needs. Sophisticated understanding of behavioral risk management and ability to engage appropriate protections as needed when risk of harm to self or others is present. Conducts intakes and other forms of psychological assessments and psychometric test. Gather’s appropriate data and formulates relevant assessment of member’s medical, social, and emotional situations. With the use of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) evaluates psychiatric disorders and applies diagnostic skills to plan and provide short-term problem resolution or refer clients for clinical treatment. Treats and cares for psychiatric, drug and alcohol patients, counsels’ clients with behavioral and personal or psychological problems, and assists with command consults. Periodically revises member’s treatment plans on the basis of comprehensive and ongoing psychosocial assessment of concerns, strengths, needs, clinical impressions, and issues. Provides direct clinical services, which may include individual, crisis intervention, facilitating education, support groups and linkage with resources to member’s, families, and staff.

Direct and provide behavioral health short term counseling services to more than 3,500 personnel at March ARB, CA. Provide support services and counseling to service members during drill weekends helping the members cope with a wide variety of issues to include but limited to relationships, stress management, family issues occupational, financial and issues common to personnel who have to perform military drill weekends monthly and be ready to deploy within a 72 hour notice.Fulfill the roles of Disaster Mental Health Chief, Suicide Prevention Program Manager and Sexual Assault Victim Advocate.

Conduct clinical evaluations to determine appropriate treatment plans for patients. Offer guidance and consultation to medical professionals, military leaders, civilian agencies (child Protective services, Police, emergency dept etc.) Provides crisis intervention assessments and services. Provide individual/family and group therapy utilizing a variety of treatment modalities. Provide clinical consultation to other professionals to provide feedback and peer review. Participate in providing case management services, placement services and referrals to various community agencies. Member of various multidisciplinary case management teams for both Veterans and families in the local community.

Helping manage prevention and support programs and activities for sexual assault, areas of interpersonal violence and victims needs in coordination with the SARC. Ensure implementation of prevention services relating to sexual assault are delivered and monitored. When needed provide crisis intervention and situational assessment, analyzing the needs of the victims to provide support and/or assistance to victims in the resolution of complex problems.Assist in maintaining the installation victim support system, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. When on call, required to respond in person; assess for imminent danger of life threatening or physical harm to the victim and provide appropriate referrals or notifications.
