About Kate Daly
As Co-founder of amicable, I started the company with Pip Wilson, following my lengthy, acrimonious and expensive divorce. I experienced first-hand, how the out-of-date and adversarial legal system inflamed the situation, making it much more difficult to navigate. Divorce is often a sad thing, but it doesn’t need to be a bad thing, so we created amicable to help couples divorce in a kinder and more affordable way, prioritising their children. Following our high-court ruling in 2020, we paved the way for couples to work together collaboratively to navigate divorce. A key part of our mission is campaigning for change to enable more people to have access to an amicable separation and in April 2022 we welcomed the change in the law to ‘no-fault divorce’. To date, we’ve helped over ten thousand people, untie the knot, amicably. Our success caught the attention of Octopus Group, and we were acquired in 2023 with a joint mission - to revolutionise divorce and separation. I've appeared on BBC, ITV & Sky news to discuss revolutionary approaches to divorce and separation and am often talking on the radio and quoted in the media on relationships, break-ups and divorce law. amicable has been covered by broadsheets such as The Guardian, The times, The Independent and the Daily Telegraph and I have written for publications ranging from Huffington Post to Metro and City AM. I'm a serial entrepreneur having run three separate businesses since leaving a management consultancy position with KPMG. My graduate and post graduate backgound is in psychology, and I trained as a Resolution Family Consultant and I'm a qualified Divorce Coach.
