Minga’s mission is simply to create a world in which more people do what they love, take comfort in learning hands-on skills, connect with each other, and do way more awesome stuff. - Founded and built a hands-on, homesteading, skill-building company to empower people with knowledge to collectively build resilient and sustainable communities. - Grew year over year participant involvement in over 200 workshops - Oversaw planning and execution of over 200 hands-on workshops and events annually, from concept to completion, including instructor recruitment, curriculum development, logistical troubleshooting, instructor coaching, promotion, and ticket sales.- Collaborate with community stakeholders and organizations to build a stronger business model- Continuously evaluated members needs to ensure programming and workshops were meeting their expectations and used feedback to drive changes to programming. - Crafted social media marketing strategies from scratch, including conducting market research (such as interviews with potential customer groups), developing messaging, identifying key channels, creating content and rollout strategy, implementation, and tracking of impact.- Built Minga's website and managed social media content.What I ultimately did was: change peoples lives, we empowered them with confidence to make things that literally fed their bodies and emotionally fed their souls; we gave people a gift by sparking joy and fulfillment through increased practical competence.

A unique multi-stakeholder collaboration focused on empowering Guelph residents to reduce their household impact on the environment through education on decreasing energy and water usage, improving waste practices, increasing the uptake of alternative transportation and sustainable food choices.- Planned, initiated and coordinated the Efficient Home Tune-up Program; increasing public engagement by 200% in the organization through the growth of the - Co-designed an in-home LED Assessment tool to showcase the cost-benefit analysis and return-on-investment of replacing incandescent light bulbs with LEDs.( Implementation of this tool enabled a better measure of quantifiable impact for the Home Tune-up program and increased likelihood of participants to enroll in saveONenergy CDM programs to retrofit their homes’ lighting system)- Oversaw and managed the day-to-day operations, programming and a $200,000 annual budget for the organization- Developed and delivered public communication and outreach related to residential energy and water conservation opportunities, and eMERGE programming promotion- Established and maintained strong relationships with external stakeholders including City Departments, local utilities, sponsors and local businesses leading to new and renewed funding contracts amounting to $85,000 of revenueWhat I ultimately did was: Made it possible for the community of Guelph to access curated environmental knowledge and empower our community to take action that leaves them feeling that they can make changes in their lives that align with their values and principles. .

Green Calgary engages and empowers Calgarians to create healthy homes, communities, and businesses by providing environmental education, products, services and hands-on support.​- Co-creator of an award winning in-home environmental educational program with a focus on local food and healthy food consumption; only program in Canada- Conducting home visits to engage people in a bigger conversation around their impact on the environment. We provided the tools on the spot to make changes both in their home and in their lives to over 500 Calgarians. - Collaboratively planning solutions - Contributed to design and coordination of popular hands-on presentations and skill-building workshops to over 100 participants- Listening to their feedback to improve programming, make it more financially sustainable and iterate program improvements. - Assisting in program development: grant writing, funding proposals, reporting requirements, creating new assessment forms, creating new handout material, research, creating volunteer manuals, forming relationships with community partners, and event planningWhat I ultimately did was: Built a community by listening to the needs of our members, operationalizing collaborative solutions and engaging the public to make changes in their lives that left them empowered and connected to one another.
