Cherokee Elementary

I decided to go back into the classroom while I continued my education to obtain my Certification in Administration at Northeastern State University.

Pershing Elementary

I supported the principal in the culture of the school, professional development of teachers and assessment of students.

After the completion of the Reading First grant, I returned to the classroom and taught first, second and third grade looping three years with many of the same students. During this time I served at leader for our PLC's for three years.

Cherokee And Pershing Elementaries

I was a Reading Specialists through the state of Oklahoma Reading First grant. This grant was funded through No Child Left Behind. I worked with kindergarten through third grade teachers in learning to effectively teach reading. I provided professional development, assessment training and data analysis. I communicated with the principal and other district administration to ensure the guidelines of the grant were followed. I also kept financial records for my buildings, ordered needed supplies. I traveled to state meetings once a month. I was trained in DIBELS, PPVT, TPRI and Literacy First.
