I have the incredible honor of serving as President & CEO of The Health Foundation of Central Massachusetts, a health conversion foundation based in the heart of the Commonwealth. The Health Foundation’s mission is to improve the health of those who live or work in Central Massachusetts, with a focus on vulnerable populations and unmet needs. We define health broadly and invest upstream to maximize our impact, and we use evaluation and advocacy as critical tools for achieving policy and systems change.I currently serve on the Board of Directors of Health Care For All, Philanthropy Massachusetts, and the Worcester Regional Research Bureau and the Board of Trustees of the Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation. I am also a member of the Health Equity Compact. Prior to joining The Health Foundation, I worked in health care strategy and health economics and outcomes research consulting at Health Advances and Analysis Group, respectively, and I also taught community health at Tufts University. My research and writing have been published by varied media outlets and health journals, including the Boston Business Journal, CommonWealth Magazine, Health Affairs, Public Health Reports, and The Boston Globe. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Amherst College, a Master of Science degree in Health Policy and Management from the Harvard School of Public Health, and a doctoral degree in Health Policy from the Harvard Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. I received several fellowships to support my dissertation research on the health impacts of the Bolsa Família anti-poverty program in Brazil, including a Fulbright Fellowship from the U.S. Department of State.
