As president, I have facilitated events within the American Chemical Society (ACS) on campus that have encouraged an interest in the sciences. Also, I have coordinated events with the presidents of other organizations on Georgetown's campus in order to promote recycling and sustainability. In this position, I have had the opportunity to network with other organizations on campus and in the community to foster an interest in the sciences and promote a love for learning in general.

During my short time as Vice President of this club, I was able to plan a campus-wide Earth Day event that exposed students to the realities of our world's pollution and informed them on ways we could help save the Earth. This included creating a trivia game, purchasing prizes, and designing and distributing fliers. In the end, I learned a lot about everything that is required to make an event happen. Also, I learned more about the type of leader I am and want to become.

Through this position, I have become more comfortable talking to patients about their symptoms. Also, I have learned how to take a patient's vitals. Since I have the opportunity to perform various diagnostic tests - including strep, influenza, pregnancy, and mono tests - I have learned more about various diseases that are common (or sometimes not as common) to college students.

During my time here, I have had the opportunity to help uninsured patients seeking medical attention receive the healthcare they deserve. I have worked with the Patient Assistant Program (PAP) to help patients receive life-saving medications. I coordinate with the clinic director to ensure the efficiency of the clinic at all times.

My primary responsibility was to act as a liaison between the Executive Council and the Carnation Cabinet, which are the two leadership groups of Phi Mu. I was also able to work with each individual Carnation Cabinet Chair in order to ensure that they performed their duties to the best of their ability. As problems arose throughout the year, I handled them immediately to ensure the wellbeing of my sisters and our chapter as a whole. I also facilitated biweekly meetings in order to encourage the Carnation Cabinet Chairs to continue to work on projects and provide updates as they progressed.

Through this leadership position, I have had the opportunity to connect with several local non-profit organizations in order to organize various community service events throughout the year. I have grown as a speaker by notifying the chapter of these upcoming service events at our weekly meetings. If a sister does not complete her service requirements, I help her make a plan for the next month so that she may complete this requirement in the future.

During my time as the Secretary of this club, I managed the club's online calendar in order to keep the members informed of all upcoming events. I often promoted club events by distributing fliers and speaking to students at the club’s booth. Ultimately, this position allowed me to strengthen my time management skills and explore my creativity through the design process of shirts and fliers.
