Each year, Sarah Lawrence College and Yonkers community volunteers team up for the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service for local children and families to engage in craft activities, poetry, music, improv, discussion, and explorations to reflect on selected themes ranging from community to solidarity.As lead student coordinator for the MLK Day of Service in 2017 and 2018, I gathered a group of artists, writers, actors, and musicians to work as activity facilitators; selected a theme and developed discussion guides in order to foster conversation throughout the day; coordinated a team of volunteers; and assisted in the acquisition and distribution of materials for the day.

Damani Baker's documentary The House on Coco Road is an intimate portrait of an activist and teacher who moves her children from Oakland, California to Grenada to participate in the country's revolution. My work for this projected included tracing archival footage, organizing festival submission information, and researching potential archival footage for use in the film.
