Animation Director, Angry Birds Stella, Tv-series, 13 x 6 min, Seasons 1 and 2How does it feel when a friendship ends? Stella is the fierce and stubborn bird living with her friends in the Golden Island. But now her best friend Gale wants to live in her own castle with green pigs. Through the episodes Stella tries to enjoy the company of her other friends and rekindle her friendship with Gale. Stella characters have flaws, they get angry easily and fight with each other but always make it up and defend each other. The main themes are that it’s ok to be different, be who you are. I have directed 7 of 26 episodes in this popular tv-show. The purpose of my work is to keep the story together through the production and make the episodes the best they can be. I work closely with the supervisors and artists in every step of the the production: from script to design and storyboard, to layout, animation, comp, audio and music. I work with an international super talented team of animation professionals both in-house and out-house. In addition to directing individual episodes I also work closely with other directors to create the bigger story line, develop the characters and create a consistant and ispiring Stella universe. This highly popular show is aimed for pre-teens all over the world and the brand includes also books, games and commercial products. The first season of Stella has had average 8 million views per episode, over 120 million views alltogether in Rovio’s own tv-channel and App Toons.tv.

Animatricks is the greatest and the only animation film festival in Finland. The festival’s mission is to provide the Finnish audiences annually an interesting selection of Finnish and international animated films, and to promote and strengthen the position and awareness of animation as an art field and industry in Finland. The festival works also as a meeting place for the animation professionals, students and fans. Animatricks Animation Festival is organized by the Palikka Association. In 2014 the festival celebrates the 100th anniversary of Finnish animation and launches the international competition.
