My freelance clients include Sony Music, Bertie and Boo, Edit Optimisation, Parragon, Random House, Michael O’ Mara, Attic Sound and Music, McGraw-Hill Publishing, Nelson Cengage, GCH Photography and numerous independent theatre companies and other small businesses.

Working for the Brand and Corporate Marketing directorate, I was the lead designer of an innovative and fast-moving team, responsible for delivering key marketing design and print requirements for the university. My job involved designing and art-working a variety of print and digital formats, ranging from single adverts through to a suite of integrated publications. I was required to work closely with the colleagues within the Brand and Corporate Marketing Team, and the wider Marketing and Communications Directorate to develop cohesive branding across all areas of the university. Keeping abreast of design trends and styles was vital for my role as well as having a good understanding of how to communicate effectively to perspective and current university students. I was expected to work efficiently to tight deadlines and manage multiple projects. I would provide support to the other designers when needed.

Baker Ross is a children’s craft company, who sell a huge variety of products on the online catalogue to schools, businesses and individuals. Here I was working as an illustrator and product designer, creating characters and craft kits for their seasonal ranges. I was also designing and illustrating greetings cards and stationery products. Part of my job involves working on photoshoots for the catalogue and also making up the craft products ready to be photographed.

Cengage Learning is an educational publishing company.I started work here as a graphic designer for Primary books but after a study trip to New York I returned to Australia and was offered a promotion to become a Senior Designer for their Secondary and LOTE series of books. Working for Secondary publishing involved a great deal more conceptual work and complex text designs. During my time at Cengage I also illustrated a story for Obento Snack Pack (LOTE) using Japanese Manga style illustrations. Other responsibilities included liaising with freelancers, art directing photoshoots and design concept presentations to editors.

Mono Design is a full-service communications agency, specialising in design, branding, marketing and digital media. Here I was one of six graphic designers. My designs won the company several accounts, including branding for Friargate Studios, Derby, which was featured in Design Week. I designed for a variety of clients ranging from small start-up businesses to large international companies such as Rolls-Royce. I worked to tight deadlines, liaised with clients, produced a wide-range of material and prepared all my own artwork.
