Medical Laboratory Technician
Current Collect and analyze body fluids, tissue and other substances to determine normal or abnormal findings. I operate sophisticated equipment and instruments to identify the results. We perform routine clinical laboratory tests done in hematology, chemistry, immunohematology, microbiology, immunology and coagulation. Draw blood samples from patients; store and label samples; and enter information about the patient and the specimen into a computer. Decisions concerning sample collection and handling. Daily instrument maintenance and quality control. Sample Collection and Sample testing in OPD. Maintenance of accurate records and reporting of data. Supervision of Lab work, supervise lab work to ensure timely completion of service requests Maintenance usually involves inspection, cleaning, calibration, testing and organization and cleaning of the lab, including preparation and storage rooms. Diagnose diseases or study medical conditions using techniques such as gross pathology, histology, cytology, cytopathology, clinical chemistry, immunology, cytometry, and molecular biology. Knowledge of critical values Knowledge in general molecular biology techniques including DNA/RNA extraction, modification, PCR, high throughput automation of RNA and DNA, transformation, clone selection and propagation. Tissue culture, insect cell expression system, and purification.
