Experienced Applied Mathematician with a penchant for complex problems requiring transformative ideas.In my research I collaborate extensively with interdisciplinary teams fostering effective communication across diverse fields. I also supervise and mentor undergraduate and MS students, PhD candidates, and postdoctoral researchers.Utilizing rigorous mathematics and physics, I develop and analyze sophisticated models producing real-world insight and predictions. To study the models, I utilize a diverse toolkit of computational techniques including numerical analysis, statistical methods, and AI. With experience in MATLAB, Python, C/C++, and Java, I supervise BS/MS students, PhD candidates, and postdoctoral scholars on the implementation of my algorithms.My scientific contributions have been recognized in esteemed journals across mathematics, physics, and biology, as well as media outlets such as SIAM News and EurekAlert! I am regularly invited to speak at conferences and seminars resulting in several award winning presentations.I also actively engage in scientific service through the organization of seminars, maintaining autograders, and contributing to my department's diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. I've also volunteered for the McNair Scholars program and National Academy of Engineering Grand Challenges as a mentor.With a strong commitment to education, my teaching has been well-received with consistent near-perfect evaluations from both graduate and undergraduate courses. Over my 10 years of lecturing experience (15 total years of teaching experience) I have received several awards for my innovative pedagogy.
