Evaluation of the targeted mutagenic system EvolvR (nCas9-PolI3M) via specific mutagenesis of antibiotic resistance-conferring regions within the 16S rRNA gene. Intended for validation of EvolvR's precision and efficacy, as well as giving insights into antibiotic resistance mechanisms, potential for novel antibiotic development, and applications of directed evolution.
