Lead on the prioritisation, direction and vision for gender just and feminist advocacy, campaigns, influencing and engagement in the department and confederation, with primarily external focus at every level – international, regional and country. While leading and managing teams and confederation colleagues to ensure effective delivery of high impact feminist advocacy and campaigns and the gender justice goals of our Global Strategic Framework, and broader influencing work with a diversity, intersectional , rights and justice framing at all levels across the confederation – including country, regional, affiliate, and OIS and advocacy offices.

As the lead humanitarian campaigner, I developed and delivered an amazing campaign - #IMatter - an intersectional worldwide solidarity campaign on women and girls’ rights and leadership in crisis and post crisis contexts. I translate regional and country-specific concerns of – local humanitarian leadership, feminist peace and security, triple nexus and displacement & migration, into global level priorities and channel information into solution-oriented influencing plans. I collaborate with highly motivated policy and influencing colleagues and program staff in Africa, Asia and Latin America, to design and implement country-based influencing strategies.I am the focal point on gender justice and women’s rights for the global rights in crisis campaign and of organisational quality control of campaign products (online/offline) and fundraising initiatives and processes.

Campaigner for East Africa, covering Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.Led on the development and implementation of innovative strategies of collecting and using real-time, credible data to develop and implement advocacy and campaigning strategies within East Africa. I researched security agencies’ violations of human rights within the context of countering terrorism and violent extremism and created a comprehensive database of extra-judicial executions and enforced disappearances in Kenya – Missing Voices. I provided regional and thematic expertise on issues of transitional justice, civic, political, economic, social, and cultural rights in East Africa. I conducted research including field research, into human rights violation in Kenya on extrajudicial executions, forced evictions and torture in Uganda and LGBTI rights in Tanzania and lobbied governments, multilateral institutions on our advocacy and campaigns priorities, and in addition, represent Amnesty in various public forums, as well as with the media.

•Liaising with the Director to develop and deliver ITED’s research and policy priorities, ensuring that it is practicable and complements the campaigning priorities of the organisation.•Conducting original and secondary research to develop ITED’s policy agenda and to feed into the organisation’s campaigning work.•Building and maintaining relationships with academics and other researchers in the field of educational reforms, and briefing the Director on key developments •Identifying key stakeholders and supporting the Director in developing and maintaining relationships to further the educational policy aims of the organisation.•Gather information on suitable locations that are in need for new schools or more resources.

•Assess client’s problem/s, prioritising according to the urgency and time sensitivity. Research on Laws and Acts that affect the client and inform them on ways to proceed if they are capable and guide them if they are not. •Gather social policies that were affecting the community in order to lobby for changes. •Ensure that all client meetings are reported and documented in line with CAB policies and procedures.•Research and study new bills been debated/passed by the parliament that would affect our clients.

•Ensured that the key stakeholders regularly receive reports from WDP and liaise with WDP coordinators for timely dissemination•Assisted in the planning and organisation of WDP’s fundraising activities to mobilize resources for the WDP summer festival.•Provided donors and potential donors with information on Women’s Development Partnership.•Supported WDP programmes in developing fundraising/proposal development initiatives for strategic and optimal result oriented programme opportunities.•Prepared and edited articles for the Women’s Development Partnership website and media.•Maintained good working relations with the media, partner corporate organizations, and both individual and institutional donors.
