Full-Stack Developer
CurrentWorking as a Full Stack Developer at HBP on their Content Systems team, I was responsible for the management and upkeep of various content systems platforms including WordPress and AWS. I would resolve bugs and track tickets via Jira working cross-functionally within our organization. This work often times included writing scripts and testing database functionality, ensuring our platforms met corporate standards. I was also responsible for monitoring site functionality for our various products and implementing time-sensitive resolutions in the event of any failures.My efforts alongside those of the team helped to push forward our core products including digital media from the Harvard Business Review and digital learning platforms such as HMM Spark. Through these platforms, HBP is able to influence real-world change by maximizing the reach and impact of its essential offering—ideas.Here is the overall synopsis of my role at HBP:- Successfully migrated our codebase from Subversion to Github while maintaining all system specific information such as branches, tags, and version-names.- Implemented and tested improvements to our meta-data extract frameworks finding an approximate 600% increase in overall efficiency- Proposed UI changes to our platforms that promoted inclusivity. These changes were quickly adopted by the team and later implemented on our sites.- Facilitated and lead efforts to upgrade old or deprecated systems within expected timeframes. These efforts required exchanging information with third party partners and maintaining professional discretion with our company's propriety information.- Frequently tested implemented solutions and verified functionality while ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices- Integrated solutions between our CMS platforms such as Endeca, Alfresco PIM, WordPress and our learning management systems (LMS) such as HMM Spark, ensuring seamless and efficient content distribution
