My role involved: • Conducting a comparative analysis of different gas-fired combined cycle power plants as well as the available technologies at each site. • Establishing a state-of-the-art for performance improvement based on mature projects. • Analyzing historical data generated by the power plants to study anti-icing control strategies and assess their impact on performance. • Modeling the technologies studied in the power plants, namely air-cooling and the integration of an expansion turbineturbine, and conducting simulations using the Thermoflow software to evaluate multiple scenarios and quantify potential performance gains. • Conducting a techno-economic study to evaluate the feasibility of possible retrofitting, taking into account the comparative analysis and state-of-the-art technology.
