I started my professional career as an external auditor in "VNT CPA's" as an ACCA approved firm with the objective of gaining experience in a big company and working with different companies in different industries and with different challenges. Vania, as a firm with different services for its clients, was a great opportunity for me to create a network of talented people while working in different teams and also gaining knowledge regarding different organisational structures, different ERP systems, and different organisational issues. SYB is a small Bio-tech company which manufactures chemical raw materials.As an accountant and business analyst in SYB, providing directors with useful information in decision making, I gained valuable experience in management accounting, business reporting, investment and financing decision making, and also strengthened my leadership capabilities in a small team.What I cherish the most from this experience was the small size of the company and the fact that my terms of reference was much broader which gave me the opportunity to develop my knowledge in areas where I could not develop in a big company. one of my accomplishments in this role was to join the company as the only administrative employee and left the company with a team of finance and accounting including 4 young students.Key responsibilities:- Prepared VAT, income tax forms, and weekly bank reconciliations - Updated journal entries and accounts on accrual basis- Prepared Business plan and Pitch Deck for the company to apply for knowledge base certificate- Compared budgeted costs to actual costs; identifying causes of adverse variances and suggesting corrective actions - Presented investment proposals and financial reports to potential investors and external stakeholders- Prepared tax returns and regulatory reports in compliance with strict standards
