Travel, particularly international travel, has exposed me to a variety of cultures. From this travel I have learned many things that apply to my work with clients. I look at client projects primarily in terms of how they will impact an organization’s people and its culture. Based on my experience, the people and culture factors are more critical to success of most projects than are the technology elements. To have an impact, to be useful and successful, technology projects require people to change. Mismanaged change initiatives are the biggest reason technology projects struggle or fail. I have over 30 years of consulting experience helping clients realize the benefits of their technology investments. My expertise includes:Technology futures analysis - I help clients explore and anticipate the impact of emerging technologies on their operations and organization.Project advisor - I advise and guide clients on project design, structure and management so they can run more successful projects.Solutions architect - I work with clients first to clarify their problem definition, and then to promote collaborative design of new products, services, strategies and business operations. I use techniques including Design Thinking, Critical Success Factor Analysis, and Benefit/Beneficiary analysis to help clients design appropriate and practical solutions.
