EIXSYS Healthcare System (EHS), is a 501(C) (3) non-profit organization. EHS provides primary care checkup at no cost to the patient. EIXSYS Free Clinic program is designed to bring basic healthcare services to communities that are least likely to have, and most likely to benefit from medical attention. This proactive and preventative care is vital to our fellow families, allowing them to lead healthier and more productive lives.

A key contributor towards technological innovation through collaboration and applying my expertise in Electronic Data Interchange and Claims Management Cycle by utilizing X12, HL7 and XML standards as a fundamental model to reform healthcare technology. Implementing knowledge gained through experience and education to build a system where exchange of electronic data becomes seamless between all HIPAA "Covered Entities".

Provided EDI X12 and HIPAA consulting to support the development effort of Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS) in the State of Michigan and Washington. Applied theories learned for protecting Patient Health Information (PHI) in the claims management cycle and exchanging data with business associates. Coordinated meetings with State liaisons and upper management for analyzing and reporting claims data analytics.

Focused on business intelligence and auditing of claims (X12 837, HCFA and UB92/04) being submitted to health insurance companies. Worked with analysts towards applying diagnosis and procedure codes considering provider contracts for billing from a hospital or professional claims perspective in the revenue cycle management and linking the remittance advice (835) with the accounting system.

Here at Emdeon, I worked towards implementing the HIPAA rules on administrative simplification by focusing on Electronic Data Interchange and developing the HIPAA required X12 transaction sets as an early adopters. Innovation was the key focus when working towards understanding the concept of “Covered Entities” and how they interact with clearinghouses when exchanging EDI X12 transactions. Developed innovative subsystems to support CAQH (CORE), Coordination of Benefits (COB) and for NPI rules, to further provide administrative simplification at health care provider systems and health insurance plans. Worked towards resource assignments and mentoring new hires in the area of project management, business analyst and development resources as I learned the change management theories and how it impacts the corporate behavior in multiple phases specific to employee’s resistance to change and how to overcome the fear of change.

I contributed to build a file management and FTP application for OS/400 using C and C++. My main focus area was developing encryption modules to secure data exchanges and interaction with client’s technical team for support. In addition I learned to developed cost benefit analysis report of future enhancements to the product line and how sales and marketing team creates company portfolio. I further designed relational databases based on requirements and lead the off-shore development team.

I assisted students in tutoring with lab assignments and programming concepts using Visual Basic 4 & 5, JBuilder and C. Explained student with exam rules, proctored exam and then graded them. I further assisted Network Administrators with LAN and developed a sound concept of client server application development.
