I am a chemist with strong background in application of LCMSMS in field of food testing. I have experience in analysis of pesticide residues from fresh produce, processed food, flavor oils, and herbal supplements. I am trained in EPA methods, for extraction of pesticides from soil and water. My current interest is to reduce chemical footprint in lab processes, and increase in cost effectiveness through miniaturization. I am working on development of tailored methods for analysis of glyphosate from herbal supplements. I have published and presented my research in various journals and conferences.

Postdoctoral Researcher - Air Quality GroupUc Davis Jun 2012 - May 2013Davis, California, UsDesigned and developed the aerosol generation, drying and sampling technology to prepare reference materials (standards) for quantifying Lead, Silicon, and Phosphorous for analysis of environmentally collected field samples using XRF and ICP/MS analysis. The standards were used by large air monitoring networks in US-EPA network including IMPROVE and SLAMS. -
Research AssistantSouthern Illinois University Aug 2006 - May 2012Carbondale, Il, Us1.Speciation studies for SOA generated by ozonolysis of biogenic VOCs and their mixtures found in indoor and atmospheric environment, using solvent extraction and GC/MS methodologies. 2. Scent traps collected from mountain pine beetle infected ans non infected trees were collected, solvent extracted and VOCs were identified by GC/MS. (Collaborator: Desert Research Institute, Storm Peak Lab, CO and University of New Hampshire, Durham, NH)3. SOA generated from VOC mixtures were aged in presence of NH4+ and UV-VIS absorbance characteristics were studied.4. GC/MS methods for the identification of semiochemicals in flowering plants. Teaching AssistantSouthern Illinois University Aug 2006 - May 2012Carbondale, Il, UsCourses taught at SIUC: Instrumental Analysis (CHEM 434); Inorganic Chemistry (CHEM 411); General Chemistry (CHEM 140A) (CHEM 140B)Duties Included: Teaching safe and proper lab practices to undergraduates for successful completion of the experiments. Grading and teaching the enlisted curriculum as set by the course instructor. Preparation of unknowns for the undergraduate students, helping them in learning and mastering and evaluating the use of different analytical instruments and techniques involved in the estimation of the unknown(s) samples. Helping students gain insight on the synthesis and characterization of various transition metal complexes. Occasionally, I have also been presented with the opportunity for teaching of the main course curriculum in the absence of the course instructor. Additionally, I have helped evaluate and develop the course curriculum for undergraduate teaching labs. -
