In this role, I was responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership of the engineering department to deliver the following main items:1. Delivery of Capital Works Program2. Project investigation and initiation3. Grants management from the application, administration through to acquittal4. Road management including managing the policies, and providing advice on the referrals5. Provision of Engineering subject matter expert advice; including quality management, reviewing the adopted development manuals, and so on.Successful delivery of the Capital Works Program within the last four years, providing governance to the project management processes according to the PMBOK, securing significant funds through grants, and successful management of the grants were some of my achievements, for which I am proud.

In this role, I have delivered more than 60 projects successfuly. This includes roads, drainage, aerodrome, footpath, and recreational facility projects. Below please find my main responsiblities in this role:• Effectively and efficiently manage projects demonstrating best practice throughout the project life cycle in accordance with program management office (PMO) guidelines• Provide a Project Sponsor Support service for specific projects as directed by the Program Office Manager• Achieve chargeability and other reasonable targets set by the Program Office Manager• Identify, report and escalate in a timely manner, any potential or actual variations to project scope, cost or schedule with documented contingency planning options for consideration and approval• Undertake cost estimating, cost budgeting and cost control using Council’s financial management software, to ensure that projects are completed within approved budgets• Preparation of project documents for approval to support funding or acquittal requirements, relating to government grants• Proactively seek ways to improve the efficiency of the Project Teams ability in delivering projects• Provide monthly financial reports with cash flow projections to assist the POM office in accurate forecasting and reporting to Council • Establish and maintain a comprehensive Risk Management plan for each project, clearly and proactively demonstrating that risks have been addressed throughout the project lifecycle

• Undertook in the field monitoring of contractors, including works programming, verification of works carried out against works programmed and prepared reports• Prepared and reviewed contract documentation, ran quotation process and engage the required resources according to the Council Procurement Policy.• Ensured contractors performance in accordance with the specification and proactively identified issues• Directed contractors in contract compliance matters• Supervised progress claims, payments, and variations• Provided general input into any reviews of service specifications and contract terms• Accessed the Council’s Customer Request System and responded to customer complaints

• Checked Subdivision files and documents to ensure compliance with Council standards and guidelines• Inspected current construction practices and ensured that new developments have been constructed in accordance with approved plans and specifications • Contacted consultants and developers to resolve issues related to subdivision developments• Prepared reports regarding the progress of works and status of subdivisions• Monitored the results of testing of materials and works to ensure compliance with the appropriate guidelines and specifications• Prepared defect lists for constructed subdivisions prior to commencement of maintenance period for contractors to attend to

One of the most well-known construction companies in Iran, which has completed many complex projects including more than 300 kilometers of roads and railroads, 1.2 million square meters of residential and commercial units, and more than 500 kilometers of water distribution systems. The Project: “Construction of one kilometer of concrete box tunnel and Preparation of Subgrade of Parand New Town Metro from 32+500 Km to 40+000 Km”.Responsibilities: • Reviewed the project contract and prices• Led and directed project planning efforts• Managed procurement activities including engagement of the required subcontractors, manage supply of the non-stock materials, and storage• Managed the batching plant and production of the ready-mixed concrete (23,000m3 of concrete)• Chaired fortnightly meetings with the resident consultant and client, presented and discussed the Project Status Reports• Managed the project quality including Quality Control and Quality Assurance• Managed the project cost, and ensured making the budget• Oversaw OH&S based on OHSAS 18001• Managed stakeholders, Distributed information and communicated with different internal and external stakeholders• Closed the project, updated organizational process asset and held lessons learned meetings
