• Managed multiple industrial projects from concept design and numerical simulation through to fabrication and improvement, in accordance with customer specifications under extremely tight deadlines.• Designed, assembled, and analyzed 3000+ structures through CAD/CAM/CAE tools for industrial, aerospace and medical applications.• Performed geometric tolerance analysis of assemblies using GD&T to ensure proper structural mounting.• Developed a FORTRAN finite element (FE) code for Abaqus to simulate the behavior of biodegradable implants.• Fabricated 1500+ complex parts out of metal powders (e.g., NiTi, NiTiHf, Ti6Al4V, CoCr, and SS316L) using a selective laser melting (SLM) 3D printer (3D Systems ProX DMP 200).• Conducted regular and preventative maintenance on the lab's 3D printers and other equipment.• Prototyped small parts with intricate precision, and also oversized components at a larger scale out of plastics and polymers (e.g., ABS) using EnvisionTEC's ULTRA 3SP Series 3D printer.• Applied design of experiments (DOE) using Minitab® Statistical Software to develop and optimize products and processes in a cost-effective and confident manner.• Performed mechanical tests (e.g., tensile and compressive testing) using MTS Servohydraulic load frame and conducted microstructural analysis (e.g., SEM images) using JEOL JSM-840.• Implemented heat treatment processes required after the SLM production of various parts.Key achievements:• Designed, developed, and fabricated patient-specific porous NiTi implants leading to the establishment of RegenFix Start-up Company, a funded project by Ohio Third Frontier.• Fabricated high temperature shape memory alloys (HTSMAs) through AM techniques for the first time in the world, a funded project by NASA Glenn Research Center, OH, US.
