I am a postdoctoral scholar in the Chemistry Department in the Eberly College of Science at Penn State University, a position I have held since August 2022. My research is focused on using features of the potential energy surface as new tools for discoveries in chemical reactions.I obtained my Ph.D. at the University of Nevada, Reno in 2022 under the supervision of Prof. Sergey A. Varganov on “Quantum Mechanical Study of Spin-Forbidden Reactions in Organometallic Catalysis and Astrochemistry.” My other graduate studies was on “Energetics of β-halogenated Alcohols Decomposition on Ni, Cu, and Ni-Cu Alloys by the Method of Unity Bond Index-Quadratic Exponential Potential” at Sharif University of Technology. My research encompasses a wide range of disciplines in chemistry, with a focus on theoretical chemistry, computational physical organic, organometallic, and catalysis chemistry. In the initial stages of my research, I acquired expertise in conducting theoretical studies of heterogeneous catalytic reaction mechanisms over single crystal surfaces. Subsequently, my interest evolved towards the quantum mechanical study of organometallic catalysis. Recently, I have been actively engaged in the development of innovative quantum mechanical tools that utilize topology of potential energy surfaces to explore new reaction possibilities in chemistry. In addition to my expertise in utilizing electronic structure methods for solving chemical problems and coding, I am particularly interested in theory development at the atomic level.
