Amira Mustapha is an artist. She walks this earth attempting to spread this magic and connect with similar energies. This personal mission led Ms. Mustapha to create Art Defined Productions, Inc. regularly called Art Defined. Art Defined is a Bronx - based 501c3 non-profit focused on creating a platform for literary and performance artists to explore, create, develop, and see their work come to life. As Executive Director, Ms. Mustapha has successfully accomplished this mission in several ways since their conception in 2010 but the longest-running example is Poetic Affair, a monthly spoken-word showcase/open mic that they have produced that highlights a featured artist. In creating Art Defined, Ms. Mustapha believed it was necessary for the organization to play its part in offering work that emphasizes the importance of art in our world and for our future. She believed in this so much so that she made it one of the company’s missions along with creating a community for artists to grow and prosper through a mentorship program. Ultimately, Art Defined strives to bring artists and the community together, to develop a collective that will inspire an artistic movement.
