Summary:Carry out analysis, development & support of SAS solutions for business clients, including to director level, as well as for internal process improvements.Details:I am responsible for development and support using SAS Base, Macros, Procedures & SQL on behalf of TNT Express Worldwide for various projects, including ones that are used in over 50 countries. I was the lead applications programmer & tester in the project to migrate systems from using SAS V6 to SAS 9. I have also provided SAS training to a number of colleagues as well as producing a “How-To” guide in the use of SAS through which other members of staff have been able to carry out support activities. Furthermore, I am the point of contact when there is an urgent SAS requirement, as well as when there is a need for providing out of hours support.I was also responsible for the development of the Consignment Service to Universe system using iWay Designer and Transformer software on PC, along with MQ Queues, which was then deployed to a Linux environment. I was heavily involved in the project to upgrade iWay applications from v5 to v6 which often involved co-ordinating with other teams as well as the software vendor Information Builders.For both SAS and iWay applications I produced documentation providing analysis and testing scripts for Disaster Recovery procedures. Databases I have used include DB2 and Oracle.

Summary:Develop & support SAS systems based on business requirements and mentor junior staff.Details:At TNT I carried out development & support in SAS Base, Macros and SCL/Frame on Mainframe & PC on projects such as Trend Analysis which had in excess of 500 report requests a day from around the world. I led the work to make Trend Analysis more efficient which produced a saving in running costs of 25%. I was put in charge of the Select Target Addresses system, used for marketing campaigns & response analysis, and would liaise directly with business users when rolling out enhancements.I mentored and produced program specifications for junior members of the team as well as being the point of escalation for them when they were on call.In the absence of the Project Leader I was in charge of the team and was also responsible for carrying out technical interviews of candidates for SAS work.
