I was brought on by the CEO of Boulder Medical Center to assess the IPT environment and suggest areas in which we could improve patient satisfaction, ease the administrative burden upon IT and reduce the overall cost of telecommunications. I suggested a complete end to end redesign of the IPT environment from carrier to deskphone. The project accomplishments are summarized below.PSTN MigrationOur legacy Lumen portal included dozens of accounts which had been accumulated over a 75 year duration. At completion, I migrated 550 DIDs from Lumen to Flowroute resulting in the consolidation of all our PSTN connectivity and billing into a single SIP cloud telephony provider.PBX MigrationThe legacy Cisco IPT environment included:1. 2 UCS C Series rack mount servers supporting 12 VMs (CUCM, CUC, IMP, UCCX, CER & MRA)2. 4 IOS CUBES for PSTN connectivity, SRST and overhead pagingThe resulting management overhead of 6 unique Cisco IPT administrative GUIs, 2 vSphere / ESXi Hypervisors, 2 CIMC / OOB interfaces and the CLI complexity of 4 CUBEs was overwhelming the IT department. All of this complexity was condensed into a single 3CX VM, 3 Grandstream voice gateways for overhead paging and 2 Ribbon SBCs for PSTN connectivity. Fax MigrationThe legacy fax environment included 45 1FB analog circuits which were migrated into Flowroute allowing the organization to leverage iFax for exceptionally cost effective and reliable Fax Over IP. The project was a great success and resulted in significant cost savings and a substantial reduction in IT management overhead. Instead of having to hire dedicated Cisco VoIP engineers, IT generalists can now understand and manage the PSTN connectivity, on prem PBX, overhead paging, and FoIP services.

I am the SME on the Optanix Remote Management Services (RMS) team that supports our client’s Data Center platforms including Cisco UCS Hardware platforms, VMware vSphere, SAN and NAS platforms. I also continue to engage as the SME for analyzing and optimizing the Optanix monitoring platform to properly monitor our client’s Data Center technologies.

My focus is on Datacenter technologies including Cisco UCS B/C Series platforms, EMC SAN/NAS and VMWare. My primary responsibility is to research and document how the Optanix platform can utilize an API based methodology to monitor and manage our client's Datacenter technologies.

I designed, implemented and supported Cisco UC solutions for enterprise clients.

• Delivered overview of video conferencing technology to Executive Team, resulting in the approval of funds for acquisition of video conferencing infrastructure.• Deployed enterprise-wide Polycom HD H.323 videoconferencing solution, consisting of Video Border Patrol, HDX8000, HDX4000, QDX6000 codecs, VVX1500 Video Phones, RMX1000 MCU and Converged Management Application (CMA) video to the desktop.• Presented benefits to Board of Director for major network expansion, resulting in a $400,000 network project upgrade.• Developed a team environment between disparate groups (legacy PBX staff and Cisco Network engineers), resulting in the combined experience/institutional knowledge to overcome Cisco VoIP challenges and create a stable VoIP mission critical 24/7 hospital environment.• Directed the design, integration, management, and troubleshooting for 24/7 UC infrastructure including Implemented Cisco Call Manager 4.x, CUCM 6.x / 7.x, IPCC Express 4.x, Unity 4.x and PSTN Gateways (MGCP and H.323), VG224 and VG248 Analog Gateways, and approximately 3,500 Cisco desktop phones and 1,000 Cisco WiFi phones.• Managed all Cisco Contact Center Express contact centers used by patients for scheduling appointments and patient financial services. • Acted as primary information systems contact during the opening of a new 100% VoIP state-of-the-art hospital with a user base of 5,000.• Influenced legacy staff to accept migration from PBX to VoIP; influence turned around initial failed rollout.• Introduced Cisco Airespace 802.11 a/b/g infrastructure supporting bedside medical charting system, resulting in enterprise-wide wireless laptops, VoIP 7921/7925 phones, tablets and handhelds - WLAN network coverage over 1,000 LWAAP access points and 15 Cisco wireless LAN controllers (WLCs).

• Established and documented computer security incidents technical details and solutions for a 30,000-user network population.• Prepared end-user training session covering PKI, digital certificates, and public-key cryptography. • Analyzed security of credit-card acceptance module to an enterprise-wide, web-based, E-commerce application. • Designed, installed and configured Cisco VPN 3005 Concentrator solution providing secure remote access to internal network resources. • Integrated and authenticated VPN 3005 Concentrator with existing CheckPoint F/W 1 firewall; provided IPSec encryption for telecommuters and traveling users. • Designed, configured, and installed Cisco IDS-4230 utilizing Cisco Secure Policy Manager (CSPM) as the management console; beta tester for Cisco’s new Java-based IDS management application Intrusion Detection Manager (IDM). • Implemented WIN2K Certificate Services, as internal Certificate Authority (CA), for issuance of digital certificates to VPN Concentrator and remote users. • Designed, configured, and installed 3COM Remote Access Server (RAS) solution integrated with Cisco Secure Access Control Server (ACS) that provided Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting services for dial-up users. • Managed WAN enterprise infrastructure upgrade consisting of HQ location and 12 remote sites.• Designed, configured, and installed dual Cisco Secure PIX firewalls in a fail-over configuration attaining crucial high availability requirement.• Led design and integration of Cisco Aironet wireless solution replacing dedicated T1 lines with wireless access points and bridges.• Implemented Cisco PIX based IPSec/VPN extranet with a newly acquired subsidiary.
