As a person who has always been passionate about creating new experiences for others, life has always led me to places where I was able to do so. Working in Sales and especially in the travel industry gave me this golden opportunity to pursue this passion and learn so much on providing the more finer services to clients. During this period I was able to work closely with over a hundred institutions, travel agents, travel providers, hotels and cruise lines from all over the world. Myself being from a multicultural family, It was during this time that I was able to travel to many places of the world and appreciate its colourful cultures.With the growth of online travel platforms and social media, new opportunities emerged. Creating web travel booking platforms, digital marketing, content creation and SEO. This new found and rapidly growing connection between tech and travel was a place I could excel.For over a decade as both a sales manager and eventually a business owner, I was fortunate to work with a wide range of travel businesses both in creating online experiences for their customers and online marketing consultation.Covid hit all of us in 2019 and many business sectors especially tourism faced some of their worst years known to us. As sad as that may have been, I started looking at new opportunities and new areas to explore to build my skill set and equip myself for the eventual day that everything would be back to normal.The importance of stored data and gaining business insights from it was growing. Data that a few years ago, nobody would have even looked at. I found this fascinating and the idea of learning how to use these data sources for my travel clients excited me. My experience working with tech companies helped me quickly build upon my programming skills and I found myself gaining valuable skills from the data science toolbox. In 2021 I decided to pursue this interest in Data Science by moving to Canada and completing my Master of Data Science from the University of British Columbia(June 2022). I now hope these skills can soon help the companies I work with.
