I joined TFM as their vision of having all students in Malaysia attaining quality education resonated well with me. The Fellowship experience involves a 2 year teaching stint in a high-need school, continuous professional leadership development with TFM workshops and seminars and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education being pursued throughout the period.It was an eye-opening and humbling experience for me as I taught over 250 rural students English and History, working alongside the teaching community of my school and the Ministry of Education. Together we strive to develop and nurture young talents by providing them a holistic education. The challenges involved has certainly allowed me to reflect on my personal growth and hone competencies for my professional development.Some notable achievements include:• Contributing to the increase of SPM English passing rate of 76 % (2013) to 81 % (2014) in SMK Tengku Menteri, Perak. Restructured the English scheme of work, incorporating structured grammar and writing modules tailored for students with low proficiency levels.• Leading a team of 4 students in the National History Quiz competition. First time in school history to represent Perak in a co-academic competition.
