-Ensuring smooth running of events for NUIG’s banqueting and catering needs.-Delegating tasks effectively.-Coordinating the activities of the catering staff.-Managing a group of diverse staff who have different abilities.-Communicating with the kitchen staff to ensure efficient food service.-Ensuring Health & Safety and also hygiene procedures & standards are maintained

-Welcoming guests to the hotel in a polite, friendly and helpful manner. Dealing with check-in & check-outs.-Taking payment from guests in the form of cash or credit cards.-Answering telephone inquiries promptly & professionally. Operating the switchboard and directing calls appropriately. -Dealing with and resolving customer complaints. -Take reservation calls for the room and restaurant. Explaining guests about the facilities and amending the rates according to the guest requirement.-Room Allocations-Provide information and literature about the hotel in person and via telephone. Ensuring all relevant paperwork has been completed in order for a smooth handover at the end of your shift
