Strategic role and I am responsible for leading medical/clinical teams ensuring the delivery of high-quality healthcare services and driving the clinical direction of the organization.

Leading nine practices throughout Ohio and focusing on achieving better health outcomes for our patients. We are involved in a full risk based model that specifically targets preventive care that has proven to lead to decreased morbidity and mortality. Areas of focus include building patient trust, coaching our PCPs to become excellent value based care providers, providing all appropriate screenings, as well as documenting appropriately to ensure that we are receiving the credit we deserve by building up our HCC diagnoses.My responsibilities also include collaborating with our hospital and community care teams to help bridge the gap between the outpatient and inpatient settings. We do this by communicating with the different hospital systems as well as hospitalists and specialists who care for our patients. This in turn leads to closing the gap for our patients and ensuring there is excellent continuity of care. Key highlights of my responsibilities include 1. Coaching and supporting the centers, specifically PCPs and the Center Medical Directors2. Helping with growth of the centers by helping to promote our centers and process to the community and future prospective patients.3. Supporting efforts that maximize our HEDIS and STARs performance with our payers.4. Leading projects throughout the region that are focused on process improvement and quality outcomes.5. Being a mentor and support in career development of our providers.6. Being an excellent value based PCP with my own panel so that I can lead by example.

Focus on driving quality of care for patients by helping to determine appropriate next site of care after the hospitalization. Utilize clinical data and performance of our providers to help drive patients towards reduction of readmissions, length of stay, patient satisfaction, as well as focusing on provider level satisfaction.Responsible for the entire Great Lakes region with programs ranging from Iowa to West Virginia. Furthermore, performance improvement is driven on the local level in order to affect the regional outcomes for the organization. Identifying site-specific barriers, focusing on cross-pollination across sites, as well as driving physician outcomes is a major focus for the role.

Responsible for helping to manage a group of 28 hospitalist physicians/mid-level providers within a busy community medical center. Also, acting as a liason between the hospital leadership and Sound Physicians.Leading the Accountable Care Unit project for Sound Physicians at Mount Carmel East Hospital. The project involves both geographic localization along with interdisciplinary rounding. Involves all major stakeholders including the C-suite at the hospital along with the transfer center, emergency department, nursing, and case management. Linking physicians directly to patient care to improve patient satisfaction, care, and communication amongst all players.Involved now in the PX (Patient Experience) project here at Mount Carmel East. The goal is to improve communication between our physicians and patients as well as nursing. We strive to maximize communication and earn stellar HCAHPS scores.Active member of the Department of Medicine Peer Review Committee as well as Multi-Disciplinary Peer Review Committee for Mount Carmel East and West Hospitals. Actively work to help improve communications within the staff here at the hospital and ensure best care is provided to our patients throughout the system.Also managing an ambulatory surgical center with regards to nurse practitioners who help provide pre procedure care as well as a thorough history and physical document. Currently managing 3 additional nurse practitioners at this site.

Attend Department of Medicine meetings and help to run and preside over them. Provide a direct communication link between the hospitalists within Sound Physicians onsite at Mount Carmel East and administration as well as staff within the Department of Medicine.

Specialize in clinical inpatient medicine. Also involved in teach medical students, residents, and fellows. Have also been involved with Medicine Grand Rounds presentations and medical safety.
