KPCT, now known as NCT, is one of the largest & fastest growing ports on the East coast of the India . The port is located in the state of Andhra Pradesh, which is poised for rapid industrialization and infrastructure development, due to building up of a new state capital. Responsible for Business Development & Strategic Planning, for increasing the Volumes and Market share of NCT through deeper coverage and penetration among decision makers located in North and West India. The role involves extensive interactions & coordination with stakeholders like, BCOs , Freight Forwarders, CHAs, CTOs , CFS operators, in order to synchronize the expectations & requirements of each and convert that incremental TEU add to the port volume. This includes, regularly gathering customer data and leads, personal meetings with targeted customers to understand their unique dynamics , analyzing gaps in present supply chain, and offering tailor made solutions, which compel target audience to choose NCT over other available options. Identifying new geographies and cargo segments for port, eg ICD connectivity to port by Rail. Simultaneously, also involved in promoting a seperate in house vertical , Ocean2Door, which is in the business of door to door logistics.

Manage and lead the team at multiple locations, with overall responsibility for Business Development and Operations for the BU in a challenging new Industry. Job role required 'setting' and 'surpassing' own benchmarks and goals consistently. Full ownership of Business Plan, and delivery of Volume and Revenue targets of the BU. Actively involved in evolution of the BU from Start up to sustainable to high growth phases. Closely worked with top management on key strategic initiatives to achieve organization objectives.

Maersk Sealand had just bought over P&O Nedlloyd when I joined the Sales team at Maersk Line Delhi. It was a period of integration challenges with a new organization (P& O Nedlloyd) and new IT systems/platforms. I was responsible for Sales of the the single largest trade lane of the region as well as Line, viz, India-Europe, and maintaing Lines' market share under challenging conditions.

Was involved with setting up of, 'Forwarding', product to the portfolio of Maersk Logistics,and ensuring its growth to a self sustainable level in New Delhi and North India. Managed a team of three dedicated Sales professionals towards achievment of organization Budgets for the Region.
