I am right now General Manager in NTPC, and was the CEO of NEWS, a company promoted by NTPC limited for waste management. The company is committed to meeting the goal of Swachh Bharat. I was also the first DIrector of NEWS.I am heading the Waste to Energy Department in the company, and am responsible for implementing waste to energy plants across the country. Right now working on four plants where MSW will be converted to charcoal to fire into the conventional coal plants.I have successfully initiated biomass co-firing in India by firing it in seven NTPC plants. The project started in 2016 with test firing in NTPC Dadri and was subsequently expanded to the other plants. I joined NTPC Ltd in 1989 as the 14th Batch Engineer Executive Trainee. I have exhibited excellent leadership skills, great analytical skills, initiative, enthusiasm and hard work during my tenure at NTPC Limited.I have diversified experience and Worked in the Operation and Maintenance( O&M) department, Engineering department, and led the countrywide rollout of biomass co-firing. I have studied in prestigious institutions such as IIT Delhi, Harvard Business School, IIM Kolkata etc.Taking the initiative to streamline and automate the design work, I developed a lot of software. They helped improve the speed and accuracy of the work. I have been instrumental in developing and finalising the specifications for 660 and 800 MW power plants. I conducted a study on Power Generating Options for 2050 by World Energy Council (WEC) as a part of the four-member senior-level team from India.
