About Amit Madhukar
PhD research assistant working in the field of computational mechanics with a focus on biomechanics, numerical methods (finite difference, finite element and discontinuous Galerkin methods) and parallel programming. I am building a high resolution human head model in Abaqus FEA with the aim of predicting head trauma following impacts. Interested in increasingly accurate modelling of biological tissues to enrich our numerical model. Additionally, I am working on the adaptive Spacetime Discontinuous Galerkin (aSDG) method – a highly flexible, adaptive code to solve dynamic, multiphysics problems governed by hyperbolic partial differential equations. I am developing a parallel solver for the code using the pThreads and MPI parallel frameworks. Applications include simulation of earthquake rupture and hydraulic fracturing.
