Working with street children since 2003.Getting great joy from nurturing and helping young people to reach their potential.At Jamghat, we help children living and working on the streets of Delhi to realize their dreams and re-join society by offering opportunities to make them self-sustained and more independent. With the belief in the right of every child to have a full-fledged childhood and where children have the right to protection, respect, opportunities and participation in their growth and development, Jamghat has been running two shelter homes and one day care centre for more than 100 girls and boys on a model of care and development, which includes provision of basic security and services like food, shelter and health care, priority is given to their education, capacity building, recreation and adult support & guidance. Jamghat provides vulnerable street children the opportunity and space to grow and evolve as young individuals. The children are given basic security and services such as food, shelter, educational assistance and career guidance and health care to prepare them for the outside world. Ekjut is a livelihood intervention of Jamghat, where we have trained women from extremely deprived families in tailoring and we provide regular work to 20 women on the basis of orders generated from the market.
